Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today I worked on numbers 70-100,000 with the first student. We also reviewed the days of the week. We also worked on composing questions. With the second student, we worked on expressing doubts and uncertainties."
"We went over vocabulary using flashing cards, coloring pages and children's books in Spanish. The student is doing really great. He is a determined 3 year old."
"We had a cultural activity today. We made up a list of matching Halloween themed vocabulary words, and I showed him two videos in Spanish."
"Today, I wanted the girls to be creative with their session, so I had each of them write a short story in German, with me aiding them on spelling and vocabulary. The story-writing is also a good way for me to see how they have retained concepts we might not have covered in a while. We got about halfway through finishing their stories, and we will continue that tomorrow."
"We made really good progress again today. We did some review and a lot of conversation and writing practice. The student has a good handle on verb endings, and we got started on recognizing them when they're used in regular speech and using them ourselves. Homework is to practice conversation."
"We mostly conversed about trips to Germany and politics. The student is mostly interested in learning more vocabulary and perfecting his pronunciation. For the next session, I will make some phrases that we both find interesting to learn words. I believe that learning a word along with a few others, in a sentence for instance, is a good way to memorize and learn how to properly use a word."
