Finance Tutoring review by Monica in Akron, OH
We continued to go over problems related to her exam. The student continues to struggle with questions that require multiple steps to solve the problem. The student also has trouble recalling when to use which formula. Overall, I think she has improved, as she is more familiar with using percents and unit conversion. However, I think the student sometimes tries to hard to do everything by herself, and should utilize her calculator as much as possible so she can focus on formula memorization.

Finance Tutoring review by Elnora in Akron, OH
The student and I continued to review an assignment and set of questions related to the loanable funds market and other related areas that can impact this market. One initial set of questions first focused on an article, and pre- and post- industrial revolution observations in the area of real GDP. The next set of questions focused on the relationship between private and public savings (and investment): [(Y - T - C) + (T-G) = I] or private savings + public savings = investment. We also considered what can happen when taxes decrease positively impacting private savings and negatively impacting public savings (related to the creation of a budget deficit), and how this results in an increase in loanable funds supplied initially, but then a slight decrease based upon the deficit. We also covered topics related to the uncertainty of an exact equilibrium real rate of interest when there is economic growth (specifically related to the transition out of the Great Recession). Finally, we reviewed a couple of time value of money problems involving "net" present value and the application of the rule of 70.

Finance Tutoring review by Kimberly in Akron, OH
We covered Classical and Keynesian Macroeconomic Theories and how to express them in words and via graphs. The student is getting better at grasping and aggregate and equilibrium aspects of those theories. I left the student with two sets of PowerPoints to help in retention of the information.

We went over the weekly HW, and the student understands the concepts and was able to answer all of the questions without a problem. He seems well prepared for his final next week, and we will work on the next hw then and work through any questions he has at that point in time.

Finance Tutoring review by Andria in Akron, OH
Today we covered: national savings, investment, public savings, private savings, real GDP vs. nominal GDP, investment supply and demand, national savings rate, and money. The student needs to work on his definitions. I asked him to review his notes and past homework assignments to identify areas that he would like to review and to highlight any terms or concepts that he may be struggling with.
