Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on logs, ln, exponents, bases, and solving equations. The student made progress on the unit. Additional repetition will cement the rules and strategies better. We discussed musical pitch (frequency of middle C and the frequencies of other C notes as a way to introduce logarithms)."
"We covered graphing exponential functions and reviewed previous problems for a math project. We covered each variation of the equation and general forms to help the student understand how the function works. I left him with most of his homework remaining to practice what we covered."
"Covered confidence intervals and hypothesis test for the difference of two proportions. Attitude was positive. For interpretation, they are to look at the questions and use the problem's language and definition of the parameter to write the conclusion."
"The student has been doing well all semester and was quick to remember the process of each problem during the final review. Good luck!"
"We spent this session reviewing for his upcoming final. Since the focus will be on the new material, solving and simplifying complex equations, we spent most of the time doing practice problems."
"The student and I reviewed the material from week one of her accelerated algebra course. This included exponents, simplifying polynomials, and multiplying polynomials. She may need some additional practice with exponents before she gets a hang of them. I also previewed division of polynomials with her. She seems to be able to handle basic division well, but will need additional practice with long division of polynomials."
