Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"He is still doing some problems involving trigonometry and he has a test tomorrow, so he asked me to come by and review a bit. The problems were mostly word problems involving sine, cosine and tangent. By the end I think he was more confident about reasoning his way to the answer."
"We worked on his next set of homework that is due and when we finished that we started the review for his test on Wednesday."
"Continued working on topics in Chapter 2. Introduced the unit circle and transformations of periodic functions."
"We worked on differentiation of polynomial functions and the different techniques such as product, quotient, and chain rule. We also worked on the derivatives of trigonometric functions. We solved problems from the review for the student's upcoming exam."
"The worksheet the student had to work on today was on using double- and half-angle formulas. She did not learn how to use these formulas well enough before, so I had to teach her how to find the information that will help her use the formulas. She needs to review the unit circle and the trigonometric functions more to become comfortable working with them without making mistakes. I also encouraged her to memorize the formulas now and keep practicing using them for the final. We will also continue to work on these."
"We began with introductions and catch up to identify what the student was learning currently. He seems to have a firm grasp on a large portion of the material, and absorbs new concepts very quickly. We worked primarily with addressing nuanced aspects of interest accrual and optimization problems in order to ensure that he was moving forward with a solid foundation."
