Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student showed a great interest in learning Chinese, she finished her homework assignment nicely, her writing was very good, the characters looked balanced and in good proportion. I did some review of what we've done from previous sessions, and introduced "pinyin" (the alphabet of Chinese pronunciation) to her, the first three letters were "a" "o" "e." Continuing the numbers, this time she learned how to say and write 4, 5, and 6. For conversation, today's new vocab and phrase were: good, how old are you? and Merry Christmas! The homework assignment is to practice writing 4,5 and 6, and practice saying hello, thank you and good bye to mom, dad, and grandma."
"I went over the Chinese characters that the student learned in kindergarten. I helped him memorize those characters and build his confidence by asking him to read loud."
"We practiced making sentences out of specific words. The student was having trouble organizing the words at first, but did very well towards the end of the session. The student has almost mastered the organization of Chinese sentences."
