"Review of last year's algebra and summer review packet: Translations, review of functions, reflections, stretching and compression of graphs and common graph types."
"Reviewed the first and only chapter covered so far in the student's Pre-Calc class. Went through some practice exercises and the chapter test in preparation for an in-class exam."
"We went over the student's test corrections, reworking problems that he'd missed on the test. He seemed to understand his mistakes and I taught him a more visual way to factor equations. We then reviewed his homework together that is due tomorrow."
"We covered solving different triangles using the law of sines and law of cosines. He needed help with knowing when to use which formula and how to apply the formulas correctly. His attitude toward the material was very good, and he learned fairly quickly. He made a 100% on his tough online homework assignment! A big win was getting him well versed in solving many different types of triangles, especially the ambiguous Side-Side-Angle kind."
"We reviewed for the student's math test on parameterization. Specifically, I focused on explaining the physics behind projectile motion, which the student was unfamiliar with. He was able to explain the units and reasoning behind x and y motion. We reviewed parameterization of a line and curves, which the student did very well. I recommended strongly that he review Example 10 in the chapter as well as the preceding examples, as they will likely resemble the test."
"In today's lesson we introduced the topic of polar coordinates and graphed a few polar equations. The student has not covered the topic in class yet, so we stuck with introductory concepts. The student will provide a list of additional topics to cover before the end of the year."
