Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over area and perimeter of many shapes. We covered her review which had shapes like triangles, quadrilaterals, rhombuses and other larger regular polygons. Her conceptual thinking was flawless. Overall, the session was positive."
"We worked with inscribed angles and arc measures of a circle, as well as equations of circles and properties of tangent lines to prepare the student for his next test. Throughout today the student demonstrated really strong algebra skills in applying the Pythagorean theorem and in solving multi-step equations."
"We worked on understanding scale factors and how increasing areas of polygons changed the side lengths. We talked about areas of polygons and using difference methods to find areas that wouldn't have an easy formula. We'll review for the upcoming test on Wednesday."
"Today the student and I reviewed proofs for her geometry exam tomorrow. I helped her understand that the proofs were all wrapped around getting to a main theorem conclusion, and we just went over her online textbook and the questions it posed. Hopefully she does well on her exam! I felt like this was a good session overall."
"We worked problem sets of similar triangles and derived measures of corresponding parts of similar triangles. We used triangle inequality theorem to determine feasible triangle measures and used opposite angles to compare side lengths of triangles. Finally, we reviewed for the student's make-up test."
"We worked on parallel lines intersected by a transversal, linear pairs and other problems related to the identification of parallel lines and their associated characteristics. After the geometry session was completed we also worked on chemistry topics related to nuclear chemistry and electron orbitals."
