"We finished completing the Practice Test # 5 for Chapter 5 "!Luz, camara, accian!". Then we studied the grammar structures of Chapter 6 "Somos lo que somos" and Chapter 7 "Cuerpo sano, mente sana" and did a series of activities from the blue folders. The student completed Practice Test # 6 and began Practice Test # 7. I asked the student to complete as many exercises as possible in order to be able to move forward and quickly. We will cover the last chapters tomorrow and he will be ready for his final exam on Tuesday, June 3rd."
"The student began the session by telling me that he believes that he dominated the English final that we studied for. We then studied all the Spanish he has learned in the entire year. We literally covered verbs, nouns, adjectives, directions, words to describe the house, and so much more. I left him with a list and how to study for each of those things before his test tomorrow. There were no concerns, and that is incredible considering we had a double length session!"
"Read a passage on the Inca empire in Spanish, finding new vocabulary as well as looking at new grammar used in the article. Practiced describing photos and paintings with descriptive adjectives. Finished the lesson with a listening exercise which involved writing a dictation and checking for accuracy."
"During our session on Friday, the student and I went over "Lesson 2" of her online Spanish 201 course. We thoroughly discussed the exercises and practiced conjugating more complicated verbs in the subjunctive. In addition, she read a few "Culture" passages and answered comprehension questions. This Wednesday, we will continue with "Lesson 3"."
"The student and I had an hour of conversation updating each other on the latest happenings in our lives, which we discussed all in Spanish per the predetermined appropriately set goals. The conversation regarding climate in both Chicago and India tied into the Chapter 5 of the book, as it focused on weather. We also touched on the present progressive. No concerns for this session. I look forward to now meeting with him on a weekly basis."
"We drilled several phrases with the first student, including numbers, greetings, age, etc. I practiced pronunciation and phonetic symbols with the second student and he read a letter. We also drilled the vocab of the unit."
