"The student scored another 28 composite from the practice book. He is becoming much more confident and also more critical of himself when he makes mistakes. He would ideally like to score a 32 for scholarship purposes, so I told him that he has already made significant progress (from a 20 on his diagnostic test) and that it was possible with a little more practice and patience. Time constraints continue to be an issue for him, so I suspect he will have to guess on a handful of questions on each section of the test. Ultimately, he needs to trust his instincts because he tends to over-analyze simple questions and second-guess himself. Nonetheless, I am proud of his progress and raw/scaled scores. Since he generally scores 30's on English and reading with about 80-90% accuracy, I will slant my focus towards science and especially math in the remaining sessions. I asked him to review my math formula sheet so he can improve on RT=D word problems, arithmetic sequences, area/ perimeter/ volume, and percent change."
"We covered ACT Math and had a great session. Noted the areas that need work and feel good about progress so far."
"I checked writing samples and then we practiced verbal sections from the SAT workbook. We also practiced one section from the ACT science."
