Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Studied for Math test on functions, ordered pairs, graphing coordinates, and graphing equations. Learned about functions and how to recognize them in equations, in sets, and on graphs. Learned about function form as it relates to the y axis. Solved equations for x and y and graphed the corresponding coordinates. Learned about the vertical line test to spot functions and practiced applying it. Learned how to create "test" ordered pairs to insert into multivariable equations and then graphed results. Completed and checked practice problems on test areas."
"We went over her test on surveys which covered sampling methods. She seemed positive about the material being reviewed. I did not leave them with any extra practice."
"We continued to practice basic functions, but we mostly covered simplifying fractions with variables and negative exponents. Hopefully with more in class practice and work over the next few weeks, we can get her more familiar with it. She showed comprehension of the negative exponents at the beginning of the period. We will go back over the concepts next week and continue to practice some easier problems, because she did very clearly understand the concepts for the easier problems."
"The student worked on her math homework and I checked her answers. Then I gave her two pages of problems to complete. She got about 40% wrong."
"The student and I reviewed how to add and subtract fractions. I also continued to teach him how to multiply fractions and mixed numbers, and I gave him many practice problems. He is getting the hang of the problems and picks up new material quickly."
"The student had some online homework dealing with graph transformations, and we spent most of today's session reviewing that work. Once he got the hang of plotting the points, the student did very well with all the questions. We spent the last few minutes doing some review algebra equations."
