Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the chapter 12 study guide. The materials covered single replacement, double replacement, combustion, and decomposition. We also covered stoichiometry and balancing equation."
"This was our first session. We went over molecular weights, double displacement, molarity, acid-base reactions, stoich, and limiting reactions."
"The student and I worked on the ideal gas law, partial pressures, and studying for her upcoming chemistry exam."
"Concepts that we covered today include heat and energy for increasing temperature of a substance and changing physical states of the substance, practice problems for that concept, heat curve graphs, vapor pressure, phase diagrams, solutions, solvents, solutes, unsaturated solution, saturated solution, supersaturated solution, intermolecular forces acting in solutions, and concentration measurements. She had some trouble with solutes, solvent, and solution concentrations, but she understood after some examples. Her attitude was positive, and she was motivated to explain her understanding of concepts. I taught her the strategy of identifying want, have, how, and draw diagrams. She was great to work with."
"Covered concepts of the cell cycle, DNA replication, epigenetics/regulatory mechanisms, amino acids, molecular structure, etc. Struggling most with terms and concepts that were very similar and had very specific differentiating details. Student was very positive and eager to learn. Suggested using diagrams and videos to study mechanisms, as well as flashcards for memorizing amino acid structures and modifications. Student has a test tomorrow, so I will follow up regarding their performance on the test!"
"Covered double displacement reaction principles, balancing, net ionic equations, and balancing. The student seems to understand the material very well, but makes careless mistakes when feeling overwhelmed by a question."
