Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We began the session by going through the student's homework for the night -- 3 small assignments in math, social studies, and writing. He did the first two assignments (the first about fractions, the second about early human evolution), which he seemed to grasp fairly well. I left him with instructions for how to plan his homework, as well as with an exercise to more accurately estimate how long his homework takes him. We moved on to Spanish, taking a step back from the conjugation and pronunciation concepts we talked about last week. We went over articles (el/la/los/las) and subjects (yo, tu, etc.) and the basic concept of gendered nouns. At the end of the session, I talked to his about his reading log and told him that he should make time every day to read. I left him with some reading suggestions as well."
"Today we reviewed for the student's upcoming quiz, which is mostly all vocabulary based. We discussed suffixes, pre-fixes, and other test-taking strategies."
"We continued with verb conjugations, writing out sentences in different tenses, and then focused on the verb tener on all tenses. It was a good session."
