Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did a quick recap of what we had learned in the previous meeting. Then we started listening to the next podcast, which includes the rest of pronouns. I also gave the student a list of more regular verbs so he can practice conjugations. We repeated several parts of the podcast so he could repeat sentences and understand concepts. He's progressing well."
"Today, the student and I went through multiple packets his teacher had assigned. He is now on chapter 8, which covers vocabulary on vacation and the outdoors. We went through some vocabulary exercises for this. We then completed the packet testing reflexive verbs and the new vocabulary together."
"The student and I reviewed present tense verbs. We started working on past tense preterite conjugations. We also reviewed body parts by doing a short quiz. I also would say sentences and have her interpret them and repeat them."
"We reviewed vocabulary and began discussing the nuances of the two past tense verb forms, preterite and imperfect. The student's existing familiarity with Spanish, as well as his fluency in French, help make Spanish come very naturally to him. In addition to the review we looked over and translated a document from his work and he had a wonderful grasp of the language. Next week we will work to develop a presentation in Spanish related to his work."
"Worked on communicated skills in Spanish. Focused on his usage of the preterite and the imperfect. Worked on the use of gustar in the past tense as well as reflexive verbs in the present and past tense. Discussed future sessions and how we should continue forward. Student is motivated and very good at conjugating verbs and forming sentences."
"Today, the student and I worked on the present conjugation of avoir, associated with articles of clothing, numbers, and colors."
