Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We looked at a series of related rates problems. The student has a good understanding of the basics."
"We reviewed more for the student's calculus test. The review problems we did covered finding the velocity and position equations using the given equation of acceleration, and finding out what kind of path to take to get from one point to another point with the least amount of time (optimization)."
"The student and I went over some homework problems that she had questions on and she did wonderfully! We also started to cover material that will be on her upcoming exam such as finding arc length and surface area using calculus. She has picked up integration techniques extremely quickly and I've noticed a huge improvement in her understanding as well as her confidence. She will continue to do review problems as well as work on upcoming homework assignments for practice."
"The student had one final assignment today over natural logarithmic integrals. By this point, she has nearly mastered the skill. Even twists like the second fundamental theorem of calculus and word problems didn't faze her much. We also looked ahead at what's coming next: exponential differentiation and integration."
"Our first session went well. The student seems like a good learner with good basic math skills. We are preparing for her test. Today we went over limits using the L.H. Rule, then finding maxes and mins, concavity, inf points, etc. We have two more sessions planned for this test."
"We covered concepts from a recent quiz: logarithm rules, horizontal asymptote rules, and rules for limits at infinity. We did a number of problems relating to limits and discussed the importance of simplifying the equation before finding the limit. We will continue working to prepare the student for the upcoming exam during the next sessions."
