Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on the student's homework over using trig functions for solving problems. We then looked ahead and discussed and worked on problems covering law of sines and law of cosines. She is doing well with the topics and should do well on her test this week."
"The student and I concentrated on C problems for his unit on circles to prepare him for the C problem quiz. We reviewed a couple problems we had tackled previously and tried some new problems. I reminded him at the end of our session to try each problem no matter what, and put as much work down as possible to earn partial credit. He did great and put forth effort into each of the problems we attempted."
"The student and I continued working on circles and the identification of the measurements of angles and arcs. We did the most challenging problems in this section and she did extremely well solving them. Great win for this session! We went forward into the next section to get a brief view of the next chapters ahead and the student took the initiative to suggest and complete a challenging problem in this section with just a brief tutorial of how to complete assignments based on area."
"The student completed his geometry homework and appeared to do well with it. Today, we reviewed patterns and sequences - he performed quite well. We also looked at solving equations with provided values. As long as he writes things down, he does well."
"We worked on the student's break packet. He fully understands the material when I explain it to him. He struggles with remembering the specifics over time. This semester I will work with him on strategies to recall the information that he's learned. I am confident he will do very well in geometry this semester."
"The student and I studied for her upcoming exam on Friday. We first went over her aims to clarify concepts she struggles with. She was initially struggling with rationalizing radical denominators. As we did more practice together, she understood. When she understands the concept, she often says "oh, now I get it," which makes my job so meaningful. I love helping her understand the concept. She is a bright student with excellent learning attitude. She is struggling in her Geometry class because the teaching is going too fast. She just needs someone to slow it down for her, and I am glad I can assist her with that. Always a pleasure to work with her."
