Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student worked on both Math, reading and writing. She worked on addition up to 15, greater than and less than from school and some supplemental addition. She also read two books on the tablet and answered all the comprehension questions and played the educational games that went with each book (numbers and counting). She also did matching pictures to words with short a. She also read a book on the tablet."
"We reviewed graphing and plotting coordinates and slopes, which was covered in our previous session. The student worked on his homework assignment from the current lesson plan, which covers ratios and fractions."
"We covered logarithms and exponential factors. The student had a grasp of everything we covered. I also gave him some extra examples to work on page 168 and 169."
"Today we worked on simplifying fractions as quickly and as efficiently as possible. By the end of the session, the student was able "see" the solution for easy problems quickly (i.e. 9/12 could be simplified as 3/4) without having to manually do division, common denominators, etc. I recommend that he continue to practice this skill, as he told me that most of the problems he gets wrong on tests/homework are because he does not simplify (or because he simplifies incorrectly). We will continue to work on that."
"The student and I reviewed shapes and parts of a line. He did well with both, but there is still a little room for improvement. I confirmed with him that we will continue to learn and grasp the concept of shapes continuing today, and I'm confident he will do well with this section."
"Working with the student was a pleasure. We reviewed her math homework, which consisted of topics such as creating graphs from raw data, mean/median/mode, and practice problems involving long multiplication and division. It is obvious that she understands the material and knows the necessary strategies to tackle the problems."
