Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had a good session. We worked through homework dealing with H1NMR spectra and how to determine shift, splitting, and identifying structure based on the spectrum information."
"The student and I covered finding derivatives by definition and with the shortcut method. We covered finding tangent and normal lines. We went over a few challenge problems that we were able to solve using continuity and differentiability."
"We worked on the calculator math section of Practice Test 1. We discussed drafting equations from word problems, solving systems of equations, equations for circles, and basic statistics. We also discussed methods to simplify problems to quickly solve them, including performing division of larger numbers without a calculator."
"The student is definitely improving in some areas, and I can tell that he's beginning to have more confidence in his ability on the test. This is obviously a good thing. In tow with that, he's started doing some work outside of the time we are spending together, and that is going to improve our efficiency in session."
"The student, her grandmother, and I played a game called "SMATH," which is similar to scrabble, except using math. It covers equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It also allows multiple operations in one equation, so parentheses are necessary to use when applying order of operations. She did very well at this game and seems to understand how to apply order of operations."
"We covered some basics including program structure, variable declaration, and statements including if - then, if - then else, for loops, while and do - while loops."
