Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We completed our last session today. As usual, we reviewed primarily math, but we worked on some reading and writing as well. I highly suggest that the student continues to study to maintain the knowledge and skills we collected over our sessions. This will help him to succeed on the SAT in the coming months."
"Reviewed the student's practice admissions test from school. Of particular difficulty to her were the sentence completions with tough vocabulary and algebraic functions. We spent a lot of time on the critical reading because she didn't feel comfortable with some of the reading passages. She quickly realized where she went wrong on the math section questions and mostly self-corrected herself. I reviewed some geometry formulas and walked her through the setup of some tricky word problems."
"The first student and I worked on the verbal part of the placement test. More specifically, we focused on the reading comprehension section. In the reading comprehension section, we focused on eliminating incorrect answer choices and picking the choice that best answers the question. Before our next meeting, she has two practice tests that she needs to work on from the reading comprehension section. We also worked on the math section. We reviewed some basic math concepts, such as fractions, percentages, radicals, decimals, and exponents. She has one practice test to complete before our next session. The second student and I worked on dealing with positive and negative numbers. We worked specifically on utilizing a number line to determine the difference between two numbers. Both students did exceptionally well during this first session and they are both a pleasure to work with"
