Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over several problems including derivatives and limits. It went well, and we did all the problems. He memorized the definitions, so he should do better now!"
"We went over some more problems on the worksheet given. The student had difficulty understanding Chain Rule and Implicit differentiation, but I explained in detail how the problems were solved. The last problem was a little harder to understand, but I did the best I could to help solve the problem for the student."
"We went over the definitions of removable and jump discontinuities using limits and the graph. We also discussed the definition of a derivative using limits and how to solve them. Some strategies we discussed were being very thorough about all the mathematical characteristics of a discontinuity when solving problems."
"We went over the first derivative. He had a worksheet that we completed. We found derivatives of various types of functions. The product and quotient rule were also introduced in the lesson. Also, we completed a few application problems. This session was definitely a win!"
"We went over the power, product, quotient rules for taking derivatives. The student was able to apply the rules after we discussed how they work. We also went over trig derivatives and worked through problems using the rules. We briefly discussed chain rule, where she will need to use multiple rules for one derivative. We will start that section next time. She is doing very well with applying derivatives!"
"We went over the second portion of his practice test today. He seems to have the derivative rules down, but he needs to practice recognizing chain rule. Additionally, we quickly went over implicit differentiation, rate of change, and equation of tangent lines. We had to speed through these three due to time constraints. However, I think we can remedy this by our next session. Despite this, he should still do well on the test."
