"We worked on the student's History work about the Incan culture. Next, we studied for his Science quiz on plants and plant reproduction. We then worked on areas of triangles. Lastly, we worked on his handwriting."
"Went over practice problems for Math test, covering the subject of square roots. Specifically, completed problems simplifying square roots, taking the square roots of fractions, taking the square roots of variables, and solving imperfect squares to the nearest integer by hand and to the nearest tenth by calculator. Reviewed and edited English paper titled "Tally's Transformation" about the book "Uglies." Inserted author's name, book information, and a thesis statement into the introduction paragraph. Located relevant quotes from the book. Paired quotations with the proper citation in MLA format. Wrote a closing paragraph, restating the thesis. Left the student to edit the second page, make sure to include topic sentences to paragraphs, and review the paper checklist the teacher distributed."
"We first worked on his online problems, which focused on simplifying equations with different variables. I presented some example problems to show how exponents do not have to be numbers, but could be letters, or any symbol; it's really just important to combine only those with the same exponent. I then proof read one of his papers, which presented a thesis that uniforms should not be required in schools. It was a very direct and well-written paper."
"I assisted the student with science and vocabulary. He was going over basic facts of plant and animal life in science. I checked over the answers he gave in response to some of the questions. In all, he did a great job today!"
"Wednesday, I helped the student and his classmate on their science project on frogfish. They found a lot of awesome information, but it was too technical and contained things they didn't understand. I helped them condense down the information for one of the sections to bullet points that are more understandable. They will continue to do that on their own. I then helped them with understanding exponents, which we will continue to do next time."
"The student worked on a few of his homework assignments. He started with his Japanese, current event paper. After, we moved on to vocabulary, spelling and parts of speech. He knew all the terms very well, so we didn't have to go over it twice. Then we finished with him starting his reading log."
