Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We had a very productive session. To start we reviewed her homework, which consisted of reading a dialogue and answering questions. Next, we took notes on the futur proche tense and the passe compose tense. We went over some practice problems for each of these, then incorporated pronouns into each of these tenses. We will continue the passe compose in our next session, as this is a rather complex tense. There are two auxiliary verbs used with the passe compose, and we only covered one of them. I was very impressed with how quickly the student picked up these tenses."
"The student has a test coming up next week. We worked on reading sections in his book about what will likely be questions about the readings on the test. By keeping a vocabulary journal, the student is improving his vocabulary, and studying for the test will be easier, because he'll be able to understand the reading. We also practiced conversation. We talked about the theater lighting that the student is doing for a play at his school, and about what kind of music we both like. It's becoming easier for the student to express himself in French, and we went over how to use the future tense."
"We practiced specific verbs in present tense through exercises; we practiced question words through games as well as spelling, guessing words, and reading."
