"We primarily discussed electronegativity trends, using electronegativity to determine dipoles in bonds, molecular geometries, using individual bond dipoles with geometries to find molecular dipoles, and intermolecular interactions: ionic bonds, hydrogen bonding, dipole-dipole interactions, and dispersion forces. She picked up electronegativity quickly. While the student seemed to find the prediction of geometries to be difficult, this was her first time seeing it. She should practice this, in addition to dipole formation and hydrogen bonding."
"The student is very good at the mathematics required to solve chemical reaction problems. He needed help in setting up some of the problems. I will bring in more practice problems for him next week."

"The student and I worked on balancing equations. She did well, but she seemed to forget the step to figure out what the charges were to determine what the subscripts would be. Once we had those, she was able to balance the equations. We also started working on converting grams-moles-atoms. We will continue to practice this."
"Today, the student and I met online for our first session and used it to recap major concepts from his first semester. I tried to put things into a broad perspective and tie his physics problems to calculus, as he seems comfortable with the math behind the principles. We'll set up a meeting for next week."
