Elementary Math Tutoring review by Nicolette in Miramar, FL
The student and I worked on logarithmic functions and anything that has to do with them today. We started with graphing the functions. We started work on determining the domain and range of functions just given the equations. We also worked on exponential growth and interest. She understands the equations very well.

Today's lesson was on relative frequencies and percentages. It was a nice way for the student to practice his percent calculations as well as fractions. He worked through his homework with some problems relating a small group to the total number. He did a great job today!

We reviewed frequency distributions today, including how to analyze quartiles. We also discussed differences between Type I and Type II errors, making sure to apply them towards discrete examples in the book. We ended the session by going through some concepts in bi-variate analysis, including calculations on correlation, and an introduction into analysis on residuals and achieving linearity.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Rachel in Miramar, FL
We spent the bulk of our time going over the social studies chapter about the ancient Israelites. We completed the chapter review, which included vocabulary, section questions, critical thinking, and geography. They both did well, and wrote down their answers so they could review them over the weekend. We spent the last 15 minutes doing the online math resource, which was on ratios. The ratio table was a little confusing for Student A, so I would recommend he complete some more of those practice questions before the test.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Michelle in Miramar, FL
The student showed me her excellent score on a math test, which was on finding the missing number in proportions, demonstrating finding the equivalent ratio. She reviewed spelling, definitions, and parts of speech for her 20+ vocabulary words. We played a little chess, as this is a new interest of hers. She reviewed the work in her other classes. Student 2 wanted to go over the math test she had just taken; she is working with functions and creating the recursive and explicit rules or formulas to go with problems. She is understanding this material fairly well and answered questions on related topics. She also reviewed all of her other classes, gave me a synopsis on each one, and again clarified her understanding of what she understood.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Hannah in Miramar, FL
The student and I reviewed her homework that involved division of one and two digit numbers. We used the arrays that she and I had worked on to solve multiplication problems to help us with division. We also solved for the partial products and the multiplication equation that would equal the quotient. This allowed her to connect all of the operations that we have been practicing. We talked about how next time we meet we are going to work on flashcards so she can practicing knowing the multiplication facts by heart with automaticity.
