"The student and I played a variety of math online games today. The interactive games helped her practice her fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication skills."
"We covered some decimal work in math, characters in reading, and worked on a Spanish project; nothing was too difficult. He was a little bit slow to focus on his Spanish work, but it was fine. He was positive today, and he was enjoying the work and ready to keep going. We didn't finish the Spanish project was mostly coloring, but we did the real thinking part of the assignment. I helped revise his writing and made some suggestions for him. It was a good session, and he did a great job on all of his work."
"The student and I reviewed her spelling/sight word list. She's is doing an awesome job and her concentration is beyond her years. She's a very motivated 4-year-old, and I really enjoy her energy. Although the student is great at sounding her words out, we are trying to transition her to memorize the sight words instead of sounding them out. As of right now that's the biggest challenge we are facing, but so far the student is making a smooth transition."
"Today we reviewed multiplication and worked on times 5 facts. The student has a good understanding of how to count. He did well and has an excellent attitude."
"My student will be entering the sixth grade in August, so I brought a sixth grade workbook to the lesson. I went through several pages of the workbook with her and discussed the objectives. I had my student practice all four operations involving decimals. I had her solve the problems on a white board and check her answers with a calculator. She answered all the problems correctly without any assistance. I also had her practice adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. She was able to solve these problems with very minimal assistance. I also had her practice multiplying and dividing fractions on a white board. She did very well with these problems also. Finally, I reviewed a few multiplication facts with her."
"With Student A, we covered multiplication with fractions and converting improper fractions into proper fractions. With Student B, we covered greatest common factors, least common multiples, dividing with multiple digit numbers, and many other basics. Both kids were great students and learn very fast."
