Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to work on the upcoming Algebra exam. We covered topics on rational and irrational numbers and further explore functions as graph and table representations. The student shows great understanding of rational and irrational numbers and rules applied when operations are performed on them."
"The student told me in the last session that he is working on the Pythagorean Theorem. We worked on proving if a triangle is a right angle triangle by using the Theorem. Then, we used the same Theorem to find the length of missing sides of triangles. His accuracy greatly improved when he used his extended time to calculate."
"We worked on the student's end of the chapter review and some factoring homework. She seems to understand the concepts. We will have one more session to review next week."
"The student worked on inequalities. We covered plotting the results on a number line; using closed circles and open circles to reference beginning points of the inequality; solving problems with rate, time, and distance; finding percentages of a specific number; present value and future value; and finding area and perimeter. It was an excellent review session."
"The student and I worked on a packet of assessment exam practice questions in order to determine weaknesses and areas of focus to prepare for this exam. Her major areas of concern are angles, parallel lines, patterns, and percentages. We went over percentages today, and I will review the rest with her during future sessions."
"Worked through word problems. Broke down the meaning behind word problems and using strategic cues and concepts to interpret the main idea of each word problem. Focused on the language and how to best use process of elimination."
