Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We discussed the student's study plans for the verbal section of the test, and her plans for improvement. We then discussed DNA replication and its connections to spontaneity and enzyme kinematics."
"We spent the session discussing metabolism in detail and then went over how insulin and glucagon influence metabolism. It was a good session."
"We reviewed radioactive decay and oxidation states. We also went over half life, periodic table trends, and molecular structure."
"Today, the student and I worked on logic games primarily, with some focus on logical reasoning. She was very attentive and focused on the material, and had worked hard on the setup problems I gave her between sessions. We discussed tips for setting up the games, and how to predict the answer before reading the choices."
"Today, the students and I reviewed Weaken questions from our discussion on overlooked possibilities assumptions for the first half. We talked about the nature of these questions and how to determine the best way to undermine the author's conclusion based on unacknowledged alternatives, externalities, and emphasis. After drilling these questions for a while, we then reviewed some of the logic games from their most recent PT. Overall, I am optimistic that they will get their target score if they begin to dial up the intensity of their studying."
"Today, we continued to make progress on logical reasoning and logic games. It really seems like he is starting to grasp the big picture on both sections. For logical reasoning, he is starting to focus on only the information given, which is a big step for most students. On logic games, he is getting better at picking up on how the rules for each game interact with each other. Generally, we will continue to work broadly on all sections. There is still room to improve on all three."
