Economics Tutoring review by Amy in Georgetown, TX
I assisted the student as he worked on a reading comprehension passage and answered 5 questions based on the passage. The passage was about Martin Luther King Jr. We used "chunking" and sounding out strategies to work on decoding skills. He also completed an adjectives worksheet in which he had to underline the adjectives in sentences/paragraphs. His mother informed me that next week they will be on vacation and will not need my services that week but will continue on the same schedule when they return home on the 24th.

The student and I worked through problems using double angle and half angle formulas. The majority of problems after that were completing the identity, which the student seemed to gain a mastery of by the end of the session.

Today was my last session with the student. We took 45 minutes doing her subtraction with regrouping (borrowing) using manipulatives. Then she read Snow Surprise. She got her parents when we finished. Both came in. They asked me to complete a recommendation for the student to enter a private school, which I did and mailed that night. The student also handed me a card in which she wrote, "Thank you...". I was also given a gift card.

Economics Tutoring review by Nathan in Georgetown, TX
The student is very bright and has a solid background in math and calculus. He said he was able to do the homework and quizzes last time he took the class, but he did poorly on the tests. From what I can tell, he has a solid foundation and will do very well this semester.

Economics Tutoring review by Cassie in Georgetown, TX
We were able to read two stories (she was able to read all of her sight words within the stories efficiently) and play a round of her dictionary game. I noticed that the student relies on pictures as context clues and often guesses the words as she reads. Next week, I plan to have her read materials without narrative pictures so that she has to sound out words she doesn't know instead of guessing them.

Economics Tutoring review by Fen in Georgetown, TX
The student and I went over class notes for his online microeconomics class on production inputs. We talked about the concept of an input and how labor, land, and capital are similar, and about marginal product revenue and how to calculate it across the board. I explained the different markets for the three input types and drew supply and/or demand curves for each, including those for the two different effects on the labor supply. We then talked about how a firm can optimize its input allocation so that for each type, marginal product revenue from that input is equal to its cost. He grasped the abstracts of each concept quite well, and I drew out charts and graphs for demonstration whenever possible. At our next session we will focus on material from his macroeconomics class.
