Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through problems involving secant angles intersecting within and without a circle, central and tangent angles and their relationships with arc measures, lengths of pieces of chords intersecting within a circle, and locus of points for given geometric situations. The student learned how to use a compass to create the required constructions. Everything went well. The plan is to finish the course in the next session."
"We worked through the student's work on congruent triangles. He seems confident with that material, but some of the older stuff less so. Some ideas that came up like angle bisector, perpendicular lines, and parallel lines need review. We should go back and review those ideas, as well as check in with the recent stuff."
"Algebra 2 - we worked on number lines. The student had a good grasp of the material but needs to read the book to have a full understanding. Chemistry - we covered dimensional analysis. He understood the concepts and only got held up on one problem that didn't look like ones he'd seen before, but was able to figure it out mostly on his own."
"As she had an upcoming test, I went over the basics of Geometry proofs, as well as all the vocabulary she needed to know. She was able to pick things up rather quickly and should be ready for the test after she's done with her homework. Student two had some physics questions that he needed help with and was able to get the answers more quickly than I could, which means that he should be fairly ready if a pop quiz were to show up."
"Began review for an upcoming chemistry test on atomic theory and nuclear reactions. The student has a really good ability to remember some of the finer details, but just needs a little more habit in picking what information is worth memorizing. Will continue this session the following day."
"Both student one and student two had tutoring. The former in Geometry and the latter, Algebra. Student one showed me a test or quiz with a score of 52. We went over the items he got wrong. We also worked on sections 2.4 & 2.5 exercises (odd ones). Student two worked on linear functions and their graphs. "
