Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered: uniform circular motion, old test reviews including: tension, force diagrams, conceptual descriptions of Newton's laws."
"We reviewed multi-vector addition, unit conversions, and fundamental kinematics for the student's Thursday test."
"The student and I worked on her physics lab report. She is new to writing lab reports, so we discussed layout and also created charts together. We tied in the lab to everyday life and also to physics topics. We also reviewed some of her calculus questions at the end of the session."
"The student and I got together today to start working on entropy and Gibbs free energy. It was pretty low key, and I think she understood this stuff better than her previous sections, which definitely helped her confidence."
"The student and I reviewed determining molarity during dilution processes, performing stoichiometry involving molarity, applying the combined gas law to calculate the change in volume, calculating the internal energy using heat and work, calculating the enthalpy of reaction based on the enthalpy of formation of products and reactants, and applying Hess' law to determine the enthalpy change of a process. She understood the materials, but she will need more practice for Hess's law. We will continue to work on this next session."
"The student and I reviewed ecological terms dealing with biological population and factors that affect population. He improved his score on the last biology test to a B."
