Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the relationships between position, velocity, and acceleration and how to graph those relationships."
"The student and I first reviewed homework problems involving one-dimensional kinematic equations. He has a good understanding of choosing the correct equation and solving it. We also began talking about breaking vectors in components in order to add multiple vectors. He was able to figure it out very easily after a couple of examples."
"We did some final test prep. I think he's prepared for his exam on Monday. He got a 98% on a quiz last week which covered much of the same material. He should do well!"
"Today we worked through the first 28 problems of his problem set. The first 25 or so were all environmental chemistry trivia for the most part. The last problem was half life and rate constants, so I walked him through how to do those problems. We will do the rest tomorrow."
"Today we worked through the student's study review guide for his final exam, discussing concepts he was still having trouble with and preparing for the test. The student has improved significantly in his mastery of concepts and ability to work through problems and will be ready for his exam on Wednesday."
"Today, during our session, the student and I went over his upcoming geometry unit. In this unit, we covered how to identify similar triangles based on AA~, SAS~, and SSS~ postulates while expanding on previous topics, such as congruent angles associated with a transversal extending through parallel lines. He did an excellent job applying similar triangle postulates in his proofs. The problems that gave him the most difficulties were when there were multiple overlapping triangles. We went over the technique of separating each triangle to simplify each problem. He will improve in this area by being exposed to many more problems. Overall, great work today. We will try to get a jump start on future assignments to finish the semester strong."
