"After a quick vocab review, we returned to the textbook for an in-depth review of the dialogues. The student is nearly ready for her big unit test soon, and I expect her to ace it."
"We went over chapter 5 and 6 reading and vocabulary. We also finished chapters 1-4 review exercises, and I tested the student on chapter 3 and 4 vocabulary."
"We practiced the difference between Ser and Estar. We saw all the different options and practiced written and oral exercises. The student seemed to understand the topics; he made few mistakes, and he understood the corrections. I gave him a few exercises to continue the practice of this particular topic, and during the next class, we will review them together."
"We practiced the formation of the subjunctive, when it's used, and the difference between that and other modes. The student did some practice activities. Also, we did a communicative activity to reinforce the parts of the body vocabulary. He needs more practice with the irregular preterite verbs, so we practiced those more through oral interviews and other activities. I showed him a picture and he had to create a story using the various tenses, subjunctive, and other grammatical structures he learned this summer. I was very impressed with the story he came up with. I gave him homework to reinforce the irregular past tense verbs and the subjunctive."
"We reviewed emphatic possessive pronouns, preterite vs. imperfect, and por and para in preparation for the student's quiz. She understands all concepts, just needs solidification through repetition and practice with agreement (pronouns to verbs and adjectives to nouns etc.). We did extra drills for these items."
