Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered addition and subtraction of polynomials, log expressions, and discussed some applications of algebra in engineering. We also did some review of previous material. He had no trouble with the current material, but he had some difficulty with previous subjects, including simplifying exponents. He also had some difficulty with log expressions, so we did some extra practice on those. Since these subjects are not related to current material, I did not leave extra practice."
"The student and I covered how to interpret piecewise functions involving inequalities, and the values for which their graphs would represent. She has greatly improved in her ability to translate equations to a graph, and did well figuring out whether the inequalities pointed above or below their respective functions."
"The student and I covered inequalities, systems of equations, and graphing. He learned a new technique (shortcut) for mixture problems and certain types of other systems of equations problems."
"The student and I covered linear equations. I explained to her in detail how to solve and identify linear equations. Although they have not discussed graphing linear equations, I taught it to her because it will be important on the Algebra I test. She picked up the information quickly, which was good. However, I plan on building her knowledge on equations by incorporating some word problems as well. I was pleased with her performance on her Math test at school. There is still more room for improvement, and I believe that she can get 100s on her Math tests."
"The student and I covered polynomial factorization. He needed help on how to approach problems and where to begin, and with a good attitude, we established some simple patterns that signify which method to use in each particular problem. We did some extra practice aside from the review worksheet with problems I created myself. He said he's feeling more confident for the exam, which is definitely a win from this session! Good luck."
"The student and I covered scatter plots, lines of regression, graphing data, determining the equation of a line from two coordinate points, determining the equation of a line with the slope-intercept form, and interpreting the equation in the context of the data. He has a very good attitude towards learning the material. He remembered the multi-step procedure that he learned in class, and did it all from memory!"
