Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed a quiz that she took last week. We did test corrections for her quiz, focusing on how to find the missing side of an obtuse triangle. Then we completed a review of her homework and an assignment which examined why there is no such thing as SSA congruence."
"The student and I reviewed addition and subtraction with large numbers in the thousands and millions. He is getting more comfortable with word problems and improving his speed and accuracy. We started to learn about double-digit multiplication, which he will learn in class in the coming weeks."
"The student and I reviewed again for her Algebra 2 exam. We went through the entire review guide, and I focused on some areas that I felt needed the most help. I wanted her to really try to write down the formulas for the equations of a parabola from memory, which she was able to do by the end of the session. I also focused on teaching her how to think about eliminating some of the choices for the multiple-choice questions. I wanted her to be able to eliminate the choices with a negative "a" coefficient for an upward facing parabola and vice versa. We were successful in brushing up on each and every concept, but I will be prepared with some extra practice tomorrow to solidify the concepts and bring together everything we have studied thus far."
"The student and I reviewed all of the basic concepts of his class. His conceptual understanding is strong, and so are his problem solving methods. He clearly has put a lot of work into this. His final exam is today, so this was our last session for this class."
"The student and I reviewed all of the math concepts from her first semester for her exam. She remembers a lot of the information covered, and she just needs to have confidence that she knows how to solve the problems."
"The student and I reviewed and corrected her times tables through twelve in her workbook. She filled in the corresponding columns in the multiplication chart. Then we worked on multiplication flash cards. She is doing well, and was very focused throughout the session."
