Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We focused mainly on "assumptions" and "weakens" questions. We talked about how to avoid wrong answers and identify tricky questions. The student is going to, on her own or with me, review the practice tests she's done to mathematically determine which areas are her strongest and weakest."
"We discussed flaw problems and weakening problems. She is making progress understanding the conclusion and structure of arguments. She still needs to improve on making sure that she is reading closely and carefully to avoid getting tripped up. We will cover some reading comprehension problems in the next session."
"In the first half of today's session, we looked to a grouping logic game that summarized a number of the strategies learned so far. We then considered a game with a more visual/ spatial aspect than the standard grouping and sequential games. We finished with a question-by-question walkthrough of about 15 logical reasoning questions. We looked to strategies of writing out argument structures in a conditional logic format, identifying strong language in question prompts, and further discussion of common wrong answer choices (out of scope, opposite, etc.)."
