How can a tutor help you with summer tutoring?

Varsity Tutors can locate a summer tutor in Duval County, FL, who can complement your child's learning style. Summer learning loss is a big issue for students, as students who don't study over the summer can take 6 weeks in the fall semester just to relearn material they've forgotten from the previous school year. This puts them at a distinct disadvantage, and over time, a 2 to 3 year learning deficit can build between the students who don't study over the summer and the students who do. Summer learning loss starts as early as first grade, but fortunately, it's preventable with just 2 to 3 hours of studying per week. Make the effort to see that your child makes the most of their summer and doesn't lose any of the knowledge they've accumulated by scheduling study sessions with a qualified tutor.

A summer tutor in Duval County might be the secret ingredient to your child's academic success. The tutor will assess your child's educational needs and learning style to find a great way to help them. If your child is a visual learner, their tutor can use pictures and objects to demonstrate concepts. If your child is more of an auditory learner, their tutor can explain concepts to them. The entire tutoring experience revolves around your child, potentially making it a more efficient way to learn than the classroom environment.

Today, the student and I reviewed for his upcoming biology exam. His teacher uploaded a good review, which he completed. Once he finished the review, I quizzed him on it and went over everything multiple times. He seemed to do quite well, but he will still be attending tutorials in the morning, before the exam.

The first student's math homework was on exponential growth and decay. It contained a series of word problems, requiring him to write equations of the form "y = 2550(1.0625)^x" to express different situations, including money owed on a home, profits from a business, the value of a used car, and lottery winnings. The second student's math homework was on adding/subtracting and multiplying polynomials. After completing the 10 problems, he made up a problem and solved it: (3x^3 + 9)(4x^2 - 16); answer: 12x^5 - 48x^3 + 36x^2 - 144.

The student was doing fairly well yesterday morning. She had already finished her living wage assignment research, and she knows what she wants to write for the short reflection on the assignment due today. We went over her ideas for her research paper, including the particular aspect of schizophrenia stigma she wants to look into. She's confident in her ability to find and read the required papers, and she has a good start already. While this course does seem to be below her level, she has a good attitude about the fact that it's still required, and she's doing well with staying on track to get everything completed.
