Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student worked through his review packet over things we covered last semester. This included inverse functions, algebraically solving trig functions, polynomials, and graphing trig functions."
"The student and I reviewed the last test he took on conic sections. The problems that we focused on most were graphing polar equations, graphic conics with polar equations, and determining the standard polar form of conic graphs. We also practiced a few problems on sequences and series."
"Today we reviewed the last two lessons (11 and 12) in the student's current unit. She has brought her grade up to a 100 in the class!"
"In the session today we covered graphing and solving exponential and logarithmic functions. The student had the basics down but was just struggling with some of the more complex problems. The main problem was with graphing logarithmic functions, but once he was shown how to find the coordinates, he adapted quickly and no longer had an issue with graphing. He is, like always, more than willing to learn and grasps the concepts quickly. In his class they are doing a lot of review, and he said that overall he is understanding everything fairly well."
"The student and I met to prepare for another upcoming quiz. This time the focus was on graphing rational functions. She can definitely work through the problems with ease as it relates to the previous topic of polynomial functions. We tackled how to find asymptotes, vertical or otherwise specifically, as well as holes in the functions."
"The student and I worked through limits as well as sinusoidal functions. I told him different methods of note taking and ways of proving equivalences to himself, but we need to work more on understanding why they exist."
