Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered verbs in the future, preterite and subjunctive. The student mostly wants to converse more fluently, so we had a conversation with little lessons interspersed."
"Awesome session with this student today! The first half we went over an in-class assignment that she already completed. Since the assignment was already turned in, we discussed some changes in grammar and pronunciation that were needed. The second half, I created a list of approximately 15 sentences in which she had to select the correct verb tense between imperfect and preterite as well as conjugate the verb in the correct form. She did awesome on this exercise! She is really getting the hang of the imperfect concepts."
"The student has an exam on Friday. We reviewed the stem shoe verbs of the three groups, and conjugated verbs. We studied the clothing vocabulary. We defined the tener expression and how it's used. We also described the colors and categorized the four seasons and the weather. Finally, we studied the direct object pronoun. I created 50 flashcards of grammar conjugations and verb definitions. Both the student and his mom were very happy and grateful. The lesson was excellent and I'm very confident she will do fine on her exam."
"The student and I went over numbers and listening comprehension. We planned for next week before she goes to Costa Rica and went over some colloquialisms. Primarily we worked on conversing and looking over some of her resources. We also reviewed some verb comparisons and example usage."
"There were only two students in class today, which gave us plenty of time for both to practice speaking, reading, and asking and answering questions. We reviewed basic salutations and questions with a short dialogue, and then we reviewed the homework on possessive adjectives. The students both had all of the answers right--- hooray! We started learning regular AR verbs and will continue with them next week."
"Today was my first session with this student. I checked his materials and everything he is studying at school. I taught him the present tense for regular verbs and he also learned some irregular verbs. I gave him exercises about ser, tener, gustar, and vivir verbs. Also how to introduce himself and talk about descriptions."
