Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Concepts covered included various derivative methods and how to apply them to real world scenarios. The student is very apt mathematically, and easy to work with. I will piggyback off what her professor teaches and make sure she stays the course. Great first session, we were able to dispel any confusion, and she was able to demonstrate after explanation of misconceptions."
"Concepts covered with the student were simplifying trigonometric expressions, finding the values of the six trigonometric functions in a given unit circle, and sketching angles and their corresponding reference angles."
"Covered basic -mid level calculus and worked through the student's homework. Student grasps the concepts but should practice extra problems. The student was motivated to improve her fundamentals and to make sure her concepts were strong. I did notice progress in the students understanding and seems to have built on what she has learned in the previous class."
"Covered limits of absolute value and continuity of piecewise functions. Corner functions ARE continuous, but they are not differentiable. Discontinuous functions has either asymptote, jump discontinuity, or removable discontinuity."
"Differentials and partial differentials were covered. Partials were hardest. She's a bit stressed and tired, but determined. No specific strategies or extra practice given. Assignments take enough time at this level. Will probably send that this coming week. No specific concerns. Things went much smoother this week."
"During my first session with my student, we mainly prepared for his upcoming quiz in Math. He seemed to understand the concept, but was severely underprepared for the basics of mathematics. Therefore we spent the session going over fundamentals of math, which included combining like terms, solving equations, and basic graphing. After we went over fundamental, she was able to grasp his new material in pre-calculus much better."
