Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered electrostatics, atoms, wave propagation, and superposition. The student improved her ability to add wave pulses together."
"We reviewed kinetic energy, work, potential energy, and momentum problems for an upcoming test. We discussed how to understand when to use specific formulas when given word problems."
"The student is taking an online physics course, so we started by talking about units. Then we covered straight-line motion and its equations. Finally, we ended with Newton's laws of motion."
"In algebra we covered adding and subtracting rational expressions. The student had some trouble at first finding the LCD, but after a few practice problems he worked it out. This section of science was all about the moon. We discussed eclipses, phases, orbits, features, and theories about its formation."
"We reviewed material for the final that the student has tomorrow. Reviewed topics included simple harmonic motion, work and energy, waves, and projectile motion. She seemed to feel fine with all the material covered and said she would go over more problems before the exam."
"We practiced finding zeros of quadratic functions, both by setting it equal to zero and using our various factoring or quadratic methods and by analyzing the graph. We also reviewed using the graphing calculator to find the equation of a best fit for a set of data points. In physics, we practiced solving various freefall and projectile motion problems and began working on the chapter review problems. The student is doing well using the graphing calculator's quadratic regression function to find best fit lines, and she is doing better at determining which method to use to solve for the zeros of a quadratic function. She is also doing well using the information tables to set up and solve projectile motion problems."
