Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I had a fantastic session, as always. As always, it was filled with conversation in Italian the entire time and writing down wonderful new words and expressions as we went along. We truly enjoy and look forward to every session!"
"We worked on basic vocabulary pertaining to greetings and random objects in a classroom. We talked about pronouns and the verb essere. We did mainly written activities."
"The student and I continued to go over biblical passages and decipher words and sentences. His vocabulary is good but can always improve."
"This was a good session. We continued reading the article about Die Toten Hosen, getting through some very complex sentence structures with understanding. Then we worked through Exercises 5.4 and 5.5 in conversation. He picked up there on Wednesday, and I will look for some interesting cultural issue to consider for our next discussion/ exploration of culture."
"We covered a lot today. We went over your poem's pronunciation at the beginning and end. It sounds great. You know the problem areas. Then we took a hard core look into nouns in German, and how the grammar functions. We looked at case, gender, and plural/ singular distinctions, and made some simple sentences. If you have time to practice the various forms of 'the,' that would be a good step! It will take several months for you to completely grasp how case works, so don't feel concerned about making mistakes with that for a while! Any vocabulary you want to learn, go ahead and do that! If you do learn some vocabulary, always learn the gender and plural of the noun when you learn the word."
"Since this was the student's first class, we went over the very basics of German, that is basic conversation, grammar, and vocabulary. We covered typical German sounds and the alphabet, numbers, and basic conversation like "My name is... What is your name?" etc. She is a fast learner and has a great ear for languages. Her pronunciation is very good and clear. Her homework is to fill in some exercises I gave her."
