"We spent the session reviewing the tests and strategies the student felt needed the most work. The first half was spent on math and working with a graphing calculator, which she did very well with. We spent about half an hour on science and strategies associated with it, and the last part of the session we focused on English."

"We finished the ACT Science test today and started on the ACT Reading test. The student's attitude toward the material was mostly positive. I talked about the overall strategy she should take towards the Reading test. I left her with a practice test and instructions to complete the Reading and Science sections."
"We finished up the reading practice test. We spent the first two passages going through the questions one by one and practicing the process of looking for the relevant information in the passage, evaluating the answer choices and choosing the best one. Then for the next two passages, the student completed them independently, and we reviewed her answers together. I saw significant progress throughout the course of the session--we started off correcting many of her answers, but she got 9 out of 10 right on both of the last two passages. She did great work today! We'll meet again on Tuesday and start a full official test with real timing."
"We focused mainly on math and number properties, such as prime numbers, factoring, odds and evens, ratios, proportions, negative numbers, and fractions. We went over the student's homework. She did better in the algebra section of homework than arithmetic. We are going to continue to do math next meeting while also looking at the science section as well."
