"Helped student discuss at least 500 words for an essay that she wants to submit to a science program. She worked hard and was able to finish it all, and I'm happy to say that with some prompting she was able to respond well to the initial essay prompt."
"We discussed about the following topics--- 1. First law of thermodynamics 2. Second law of thermodynamics 3. Third law of thermodynamics We also defined the terms -- system and its types processes and its types surroundings state functions internal energy change enthalpy change entropy change Gibbs free energy change"
"We went over the student's answers to the exercises I left last session. He was a little more forthcoming about his thoughts than usual. We briefly discussed the new class material, but none of it is really new to him so far, and no assignments have been given out in class. I left more exercises and reading for next week."
"We had a great class; he is a wonderful student. I asked him if he would do the vision exercises so that I could evaluate his eye movements; they were spot on. Afterwards we did reading passages in order to see how many words he reads in a minute. He did very well."
"The student worked through math and science sections. Her performance has definitely improved. She is only missing 1-2 per section. I believe that she is well-prepared for the test; we will continue to hone her skills."
"We worked on kinematics today. Instead of using quadratic or linear equations to find velocity, acceleration, and position, we actually started to solve some real Physics problems. This includes the use of free body diagrams, F=ma, the application of kinematic equations, etc. The student actually handled these problems quite well. The student had a worksheet he could work on as practice."
"Today I familiarize the student with how I like to operate in a session. We then got her project underway, making sure all resources were added to the project. We got a basic window running, then began adding the new data and methods that the node class requires. We will finish up next week with the snake game."
"We reviewed for her trigonometry exam. The student went over graphing sine, cosine and tangent graphs. We practiced inverse sine functions. It was such a pleasure working with her this year."
"In this session, the student and I went over a couple of her previous assignments. The first assignment had to do with using validation. Next, she started on her homework for this week. It had to do with creating a bonus calculator with the specified requirements. She created all of the methods necessary to carry out the correct sequence of events. We then worked on her formatting. This turned out to be a very productive session."
"I worked on an assignment with the student, then with the time remaining we reviewed what we worked on, then began an overall review. She still needs practice with the algebra concepts, as well as exponents, so we will continue to work on them."
"Today, we went over how to solve an equation with radicals. The student had struggled with squaring a binomial. He couldn't see where the middle term came from. I explained it using foiling and the shortcut formula, but only after going through a few examples did he feel confident with this process."
"Review of assignment (and various related recommendations / explanations); various pointer details; various class / object details."
