Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student took astute notes, regarding colloquial and grammar usage. He was curious of my use of the pluscuamperfecto (Spanish pluperfect) tense, which we discussed. The student's book briefly touches on pluperfect, which the student is choosing to look more into in the coming week."
"We covered lesson 6 which dealt with the subjunctive with adverbial clauses. We went through all of the presentations and did some listening exercises."
"Today was my first session with the student. We went over her Spanish II class experience as well as her goals and objectives for her tutoring and what she would like to achieve. We took some time to go over and review key points from Spanish II and Spanish I. I gave her an introductory quiz just to see where her Spanish level was and she did very well in remembering her vocabulary and grammar. We spent some time reviewing and going over the conjugation of some main verbs (such as tener, ser, and estar) in the present tense. We also reviewed conversational vocabulary terms and questions. Next, we reviewed over the imperfect tense as well as the use of indirect object pronouns. We spent most of the session reviewing this area and completed a self-made worksheet that I provided for her as well as another worksheet she had from her previous final review from her Spanish II class. She did very well in understanding the information and she did better as we went along with the work. I was very happy with the session and how she understood the material as well as the work that was completed. In today's session I feel that I was successful in making it fun, comfortable to learn, and easy to learn by breaking a lot of the material down into basic forms in order to make it easier to understand. Great session and great start!"
