Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was able to complete seven reading passages and answer their corresponding questions during today's session. She correctly identified the main idea of each and was able to use POE in order to arrive at an answer."
"Today we went over more practice tests. There was one test that was from the student's practice test, but since it had relatively similar questions to the test, we used it to get some practice. She is improving quickly, however, my main concern is that she does not have enough time to practice the tips and tricks we have been learning about. If she does remember to look back in the text only when it is necessary, and to answer questions she is strong at, she will be able to improve her score. She is a fast learner, but reading is a subject that requires a lot of practice since the material is always new. I have faith that she will remember the tips we went over today to do well on the exam, but as always, it is important that she reads the questions carefully!"
"Last session we brainstormed ideas for the "Breaking News" essay. The student came to the session with a completed essay. We reviewed, revised, developed a title and printed the "Breaking News" assignment. This assignment is ready to hand in to his teacher. We also reviewed his reading response, "Colonists and the Clothes They Wear." Reviewing his two writing assignments took a total of 20 minutes. The remaining time we worked on a common core practice test for ELA reading passage, "The Recital Dilemma," and answered the corresponding questions. His reading comprehension skills are very strong."
