Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started the session by going over arithmetic series and geometric series. The student was responsive and willing to review the material. I instructed the student to think about a negative base to an even or odd power, and how to use some rules in order to solve a power function with natural log. The student seems to understand series better than before and has little to no questions regarding the review sheet set by his teacher. The student was struggling with arithmetic computation and how to solve for a variable, and now the actual formulas for the series chapter are easier for him to grasp. I think the student came to the session very prepared and we went through the entire sheet and it was a productive session overall."
"Today, the student and I focused on his upcoming chapter test in precalculus. We did many challenging review problems from his book and also went over his teacher's study guide. He seemed very eager and motivated during this session, and I am confident he will do well on the upcoming exam!"
"The student continued to review for her final, reviewing and graphing trigonometric functions with phase shifts and changes to the period, writing standard form of equation of conics, using completing the square to identify and put a conics equation in standard form, writing equations from a graph of a trig function as well as a graph of a conic: hyperbola, parabola, circle and ellipse."
"Final review session before the AP exam. Student knows his material and we did some brushing up and review of the calculus theorems. Overall had a great time tutoring him. He was a great student and I think he is ready for is AP exam"
"The student and I studied for her parts of speech test and for her math final over two periods this week. We also worked on some science homework, that worried her at first (about plate tectonics), but that ultimately she was able to finish without my help. She's got a ton of energy, but is generally happy to work when told."
"This week the student and I began our preparation for his final exam. We reviewed linear equations, graphing and some geometry. He had minor questions which is good to see since it means he's comfortable with the concepts. His progress remains steady and I'm confident he'll perform well on his final."
