Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed multiplication tables and practiced division problems via online practice questions and quizzes."
"Review of older material, ordering decimals, adding and subtracting decimals, algebraic expressions, exponents."
"The student had homework on point-slope form and slope-intercept form equations. He thinks that he understands it pretty well and has a test on Friday."
"Today, we reviewed for the student's test later that morning. We focused primarily on linear equations, rational expressions, and factorization. In particular, we reviewed the point-slope formula (y=mx+b) and discussed what that meant, as well as how to plot lines and find points on a line. We also talked a little bit about strategies for test taking, in particular, to skip hard questions and come back to them later on if there is time left."
"The student and I went over his Math test that he had taken. We reviewed his answers. He also informed me that he got an 83 on his Spanish test. He is making overall improvements. We are going to continue our work to make sure that he gets high B's on his next Spanish and Math test."
"Today we continued with uniform convergence. The student was having trouble trying to confirm/disprove true/false questions. I had the student review the material first. After that I had him go over the questions to try to understand the backstory behind them. Once he did, I had him set up example functions that fit the description of the question and use them as a method of answering said question. He had an easier time using this method and was able to answer the questions with much more ease. I encouraged the student to review the methods we cover so that he can use them to answer future questions."
