Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, the student completed his research paper for his science lab. He used his 6th grade research paper checklist to make sure that he had included all the necessary information in his paper. The student made several important changes such as including a conclusion, making incomplete sentences complete, and adding supporting details. He also practiced his presentation for the last five minutes of the session."
"We covered word relationships through various groups of analogies. We also reviewed various math concepts, with a specific focus on geometry. Student does well with geometry."
"We reviewed all of the student's daily English lessons, and completed a new one (63). We also completed her English crossword puzzle, which took us quite a while but she was engaged the whole time. Lastly, we finished about half of her social study guide. She read through the section more thoroughly this time than most other times."
"Tonight I found out that the student got the help she needed with her math homework and she believes she did well on her math test. I am happy for her. We worked on her review for her history quiz for Friday. By the time I left, she knew about 85% of the material. She is progressing very nicely with her determination to get higher scores and understanding the material."
"The student and I briefly checked her work on the last few pages of her review for her English grammar exam. She had done very well, so we didn't linger on those subjects. We spent the rest of the time working on her vocabulary words for the exam. I got her studying her words by turning it into a game where we tried to use as many words as possible, correctly, in a real conversation. After a while, I was pretty confident that she would remember what the words meant for her exam. I have, however, promised her that I'll be asking her to use these words as we study together over the summer to make sure she's really learned them."
"Today the student worked on his argumentative essay. He added to his ideas and edited the paper. Transition words were required and he added some to his paper. He was able to complete the paper."
