Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session was preparation for his exam. This was the final session covering pre-algebra topics. The student demonstrated understanding of writing and solving equations."
"Today was our first session. The student had a chapter review packet to complete, which focused on slope-intercept form. Even though she missed three days of school during this unit, she recalled the process quickly. We reviewed what slope-intercept was, how to plot points, find slope and y-intercept. We completed all but one problem with confidence. She was able to apply the same skill to various questions, which shows her comprehension of slope intercept."
"The student and I covered the first half of his final examination. He flew through the problem set effortlessly. He understood every question. We covered solving variable equations, inequalities, exponents, and graphing. He felt very comfortable with the material overall, only hitting a few obstacles when we dealt with exponents."
"The student and I worked on multiplication with decimals today. During our lesson, she worked on completing her homework that worked with placement of the decimal in multiplication, and real world application problems such as tax on dollar amounts. Upon completion of the homework, I worked with her on multiplying and dividing fractions and how to complete these steps. It was a very effective session as improvement continues to be on display."
"We covered temperature, pressure, volume, and simplifying polynomials. The student had a positive attitude towards the material. She understood the relationships between temperature, pressure, and volume on her physical science assignment. She comprehended Boyle's law and Charles's law. She also practiced simplifying polynomials. She simplified 24 polynomial expressions involving adding and subtracting them. She did very well with practicing the skill of simplifying polynomials. She used distributive property and combining like terms to execute the items. She showed a high level of competence with simplifying polynomials. The student had a productive session."
"Today in session the student and I reviewed the concept of implicit and explicit differentiation. It took some time to impress the concept, but after the session was over I believe she has a better understanding of the subject matter. I will need to prove to her next session that implicit and explicit differentiation ultimately result in the same answer."
