Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We completed the math assignment over sequences and series. Then, we discussed recursive vs explicit formulas and the importance of finding the common difference/ratio and the value of the first term. The student is getting more proficient at recognizing the processes needed to solve the problems."
"Tonight's session continued working through a packet of geometry problems related to circles, tangents, chords, and secants. We were not able to get through all of the problems but we touched on each of the topics."
"The student got his test back and he had one point higher than his last exam. We reviewed the problems on the test, specially the ones he didn't do well on. We proceeded to do a chapter on circle and the properties of radius, diameter and chords, together with the formula for circumference. Then, we spent some time organizing the student's handouts for the math and biology classes in his folder. Overall, it was a very productive session."
"The student is preparing for his state exam. He completed a practice test on his own time. We went over the exam and focused specifically on circles. We worked through finding area of sectors, equations of circles, and arc lengths. We also worked on three dimensional concepts such as volume and surface area. He was able to complete the practice test almost perfectly on his own."
"The student and I met today. He had reported earlier that he got a 38 out of 39 on his last quiz. Awesome. We worked a problem set on calculating volumes of geometrical prisms. The session went well. Next session probably next weekend."
"During this session we covered incenters, circumcenters, centroids, and orthocenters. We also learned how to calculate the coordinates of the circumcenter of a circle. Additionally, we scheduled an online session for Tuesday evening. The student was focused for most of the session and seemed to grasp the material well - we'll continue to practice next session."
