The student and I worked on more electrostatics. Specifically, we worked on a Stoke's Theorem problem from his recent exam. This problem involved a line integral and an area integral for a given electric field. After simplifying it required integration by parts to solve. After working on it with him I explained that the integral was not really that difficult but required the use of a common integration technique from Calculus II.

We covered the rest of the student's test review/ homework over Acids, Bases, and Solubility. He seemed to really understand the homework at this point, but extra practice at home wouldn't hurt. He had mentioned that he would go to school and help other students in his class, which helped him to get a better understanding, so he has definitely made good progress for his test.

In this session we covered the rest of RNA transcription and processing, and began on the genetic code and protein translation. The student is making very good progress, and appears to be grasping even the more difficult concepts. She is concerned about getting through the material before her first exam in mid-June, so we will try to schedule some additional sessions.
